See what real people have to say…..
I trust Michael with my life…..AND I HAVE TO! I am recovering from an organic brain injury, one caused by a chronic bacterial infection, Lyme Disease. I have and am recovering from significant encephalitis and three minor strokes. So, my doctors weren’t totally “on-board” when I mentioned part of my physical recovery would involve boxing training. I came to Michael after finishing a two-year daily intravenous antibiotic treatment, for which I was expected not ever complete. I came to Michael with both an injured brain from the infection and a battered body from the intensive treatment.
I could hardly do stretching to begin with. I took private lessons, so I would not be embarrassed and feel ashamed in front of the more fit and experienced boxers and individuals. My mind was willing, but my brain and my body were slow to cooperate. Michael was patient, yet he instinctively knew how to push and encourage me. Through his program, I have learned how to be patient with myself and accept the place from where I was to the place of being his most committed student.
Michael – I thank you for understanding where I came from, and where I want to go.

In the beginning I just tried to to maintain as long as I could. I tried to balance how foreign the movements felt and how quickly Michael wanted me to move. As I’ve gotten better in my form and developed some strength, I’m discovering my confidence. I can feel the difference in my movements, in my core strength, and in my punches.
I continue boxing because I like how I feel. I like the process of stretching and preparing. I like how centered I am in my body, both during and after a workout. Boxing with Michael reminds me that I do this for me, for my growth, for my enjoyment. I wish to do it even more.

I feel more comfortable with confrontation. i am more calm. I have greatly improved my physical condition. I would like to continue to improve my physical condition, and would also like to continue to become more and more fearless, I don’t intend to stop!

Boxing has instilled self core, discipline, and confidence in me since my initial class. Not only can I take what I’ve learned from the sport and apply it in the ring, but I can translate the work ethic and ability to challenge myself into my personal and professional development within my career. Boxing has taught me to work under pressure with a calm and confident mind.

Boxing has made me more disciplined and committed to staying in shape, it’s as much mental as it is physical.
